watch out now!
After I left radio and Rick Rock got the Federation deal with Virgin Records, I wanted to create a couple of mixtapes while we were working on the debut Federation album.
One of the projects was a mixtape with nothing but Rick Rock songs. I wanted to highlight how incredible his discography was, as well as showcase his versatility and creativity. I also got busy with my art and drew all the artwork and designed the covers.
The other project was one that I teamed up with Balance from Oakland, and Locksmith from Richmond, to present a “New Bay” mixtape, highlighting lots of bay area artists. Shit, I even rapped on a couple of songs, including one with Locksmith and Balance.
Working with my bro Fred Benz, we put together these projects and pressed up 1,000 cds to flood the bay with. There are still a few hard copies floating around out there, and I’m proud to have my little piece of bay area mixtape history.
