Let’s go back to April, 1994. I was a sophomore in high school and deeply into west coast hip hop and starting to get into Wu-Tang. Nas was not on my radar at the time.

Then all of sudden, everyone I knew was talking about Illmatic. Now mind you, me and my dudes were West Coast, Bay Boys. But we all knew this Nas guy meant business.
